I Regret Every Single Time I Take Benadryl

As a result, I end up drowsy every single time. As of right now, I can't really feel my face or my hands. Weird? Yes, very. So in other words, I chose this as a perfect time to post on my blog, go figure. But never fear, I'm listening to the High School Musical 2 Soundtrack to perk me up (although, when I first turned it on, the sound jarred me out of my semi-comatose state, and I nearly fell out of my chair). So, just a few notes...

  • I am still taking a break from blogging, I just wanted to drop a little note to let you all know I'm still alive and that I still plan on returning full-time to blogging in a short while I (and no, I have yet to finish my summer homework yet :]).

  • I emailed the (temporary, the normal writer is in Mongolia) writer of my one of my top favorite blogs, singing the blog's praises and asking for a few tips for my fledgling blog. She sent me back an enormously sweet email back, and did include some really helpful tips. I also sent her a bit of reader mail, which she answered here. I felt so special to be mentioned by name, lol.

  • Once I am finished with my homework, I plan on returning to regular blogging, utilizing the tips Jessica from bunnyshop gave me. And my extreme hope is that once I return full-fledge I will be posting on a regular basis (Everyday, optimally, at least Monday through Friday, with extras when I have the time), but we'll have to really consider that once school starts.

  • Mmkay, so I've been receiving some response that I have a few regular readers (yay! I applaud you!) and that gives me great hope to keep going, after all, why keep going on a blog no one reads? But this is also why I want to post regularly, therefore quenching reader's interest, and if I don't post regularly, then the few readers I have may lose interest, and I don't want that. If you are reading regularly, please don't hesitate to leave a comment or two, that means the world to me. And please please, spread the word about my blog to whoever you think might be interested :]

  • I would just like to say that my birthday is virtually right around the corner... well, if November counts as right around the corner. And I bring this up because, well, you know those subliminal commercials that 7-up or sprite puts out? With all the lemons and limes? Think of my blog as my subliminal Birthday/Christmas wish list. I'm not saying go get me everything off this blog. I'm actually just trying to say, all the things I post on my blog I actually want, more or less. So they will give you ideas as to what I like/want. That's all :]

Lastly, I apologize this is such a wordy post with no pictures. For your viewing enjoyment ...

I rather love these earrings. Earrings, by the way are a rather important staple in my wardrobe, actually. And these would go with anything. And they are semi-blingtastic. And because I'm in a Benadryl coma, I can't think of anything better to put here :] $28

My Apologies. But.

Guys, I am seriously a little worried. I have exactly eight days to get practically all my summer homework left to do in those days. And of those days, some are already taken by other activities... like on Wednesday I have to take a CPR class for work, and Thursday I have to babysit, and I have to finish my English essay by Monday so my English teacher can look it over before I turn it into college professors ( yes, that is who will be grading my five page, yet to to be written essay) and I have a test on Tuesday on two subjects that I have to pass with 70% on them, that I have yet to study for also. What I am trying to say is that there will be a severe drop off in my posts, expect little to none in like the next three weeks. This breaks my heart a little as I love blogging so much, but it has to be done. Once I get into the swing of things school-wise, I'll be ok and returning to more regular posts. Until then! :]

Love.Angel.Music.Baby

For those of you who aren't aware I looooovvvvveee Gwen Stefani. I love her solo music, her No Doubt stuff, the way she dresses, her style, and the things she designs as well. Gee, I wish I had her life ;]

Mmkay, so I just found out that Gwen Stefani has come out with a new fragrance called L. It smells sooo good (I smelled the sample in my InStyle magazine, natch), really fruity to me actually. Anyways, naturally I want it. Lol. $55

So I figured I would also include some of Gwen's L.A.M.B stuff, and I have to say out of all the pieces, this cardigan is my favorite. And the model looks like she is sporting some Gwen make-up and hair ;] $235

This looks very Alice in Wonderland, as in super sized. I love love the buttons on this, and the fact that it looks so comfy. $125

I love that Gwen can take something as simple as a hoodie, for goodness' sake, and make it look spectacular and out of the ordinary. On those days when you just wanna roll outta bed and throw something on, you can throw this on and still look like you took some effort in getting ready!$125

OK, so not only is this leopard print, but it's quilted leopard print. Que fabuloso!! This would pretty much go with anything, such a plus. $500

Even something as simple as a tank can look this cute? Duh, if you're Gwen Stefani. I chose it, of course, because it looks argyle-ish. And I like this model better than the icky orange-haired one. (Did you notice there's only two models too?) $55

I love me some sweat pants. On those days when you're PMSing and you're too tired to even move and all you want are some greasy fries and a thick chocolate shake, sweatpants can do no wrong, they are your best friend. I often find myself wearing them on Homework Days (dun dun dun) which I have quite often, and it goes like this: I haven't done my homework all week so I barricade myself inside and vow to do it all in one day, ergo the sweats ensemble is essential. Alrightey...if you can watch My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding on Vh1 tonight at 10:00!

My Favorite Part of Back to School

Every single year, ever since Kindergarten, my favorite part of back to school was getting school supplies. We'd get the list in June, and I'd immediately want to go the next day. Then I'd have to wait two painstaking months 'til August, when my mom would finally take me. Even this very year, me at seventeen years old, and I still felt a tinge of excitement when I saw that Target was putting their annual back to school spread out, sad as that may sound. :]

When I was in the first grade, we had a teacher named Ms. Cogan, and she was like my idol. She was everything I thought a "cool adult" should be, young and blond and a teacher (which, at the time, I wanted to be when I grew up). I even begged my parents to buy me these shoes at the mall that I saw Ms. Cogan wear once, even though looking back, they were a tad on the ugly side. But that's neither here nor there ;] So the pens above were the only pens Ms. Cogan ever used, she had a never ending supply of them, and whenever I use one I think of my first grade teacher. $17.85/dozen

I saw these pencils in In Touch magazine (my fave) and instantly knew these are the kind of pencils to have. They are so classy and so chic; you know, I 'm not one to use pencils all that often but these would definitely make me convert! $20/set of three

For those of you who can't see spending twenty dollars for a measly three pencils (even if they are Swaroski encrusted), then these are more bargain-priced (yay) and as an added bonus, Eco-friendly! One of my good friends Melissa first introduced me to these pencils at Christmastime (her brother gave her one) and they intrigued me, but I didn't know where to purchase them. When I found them at Fred Flare, I was ecstatic, and they come in a range of smells no less! $14/10

Again going back to about the Kindergarten/First grade era, we read a lot of Little Bear and Franklin. Then they came out with the TV shows. Personally, I hated both characters, they were a bit too slow-paced for me. But the idea of Little Bear on a notebook? So cute! And as an added treasure, this notebook has not only the cover, but includes the actual story at the end! What a great idea! $20

As an aside, I REALLY love this journal. Clue is my all time favorite board game, and one of my favorite movies (If you haven't seen Clue the movie, go see it now! It is in the $5.50 section at Target, but don't let that deter you!) Will someone pretty please buy this for me? :] I've spent all my money on a Sedu! $15

Okay, so I'm not saying this is the prettiest binder and that I would go out and buy it right away. I was simply looking for a binder with some flair, and this fits the bill. Plus, I'm in love with the idea of collage making and hodge-podging, so this stirs my creative side and I would love to do something along these lines someday. I've already done something like this on the cover of a composition notebook and it turned out great and the recipient loved it. Did I mention that the scraps of paper on the binder are from a wonderful book, The Awakening, yep, that sold me as well ;] $15

I put this up here as a substitute for boring scissors, and as a way to lead into saying that I love the whole new line of Crayola Total Tools, including the tool above, and the stapler that doesn't use staples, and the glue roller, and the erasable highlighters, and so on, they're all on Crayola's website. $4.99

Speaking of staplers that don't use staples, the one above is also one of those wonders. It uses some sort of paper punching technique that sort of laces the corners of the papers together. But at least it solves the problem of running out of staples, plus, it's safer. The only reason this one wins out over the Crayola one is that you can pick your own color out of six colors. $6

To be honest, I am not one to use erasers all that often (remember, I don't use pencils all that often either), and my trusty Pink Pearl eraser has been around for like two years where I've barely used it (but I really fancy those clickable stick ones that come in different colored holders). But these cute little dandies are superb. Although, truth be told, I wouldn't even use these, they're too perfect as they are. I'd just stare at and admire them from time to time. Impractical? Yes. Too cute to pass up? You betcha! $10

Every year I am constantly reminded that we need graphing calculators at school, and every year I cannot seem to find mine so I buy another one (no small feat, as these babies cost like $80-$100). But I have somehow managed to find two of my old graphing calculators from years past so I'm set to go for this year. But I kinda wish I wasn't, because how much would I love to have a pink graphing calculator? A lot, that's how much! $129.99
Alright, my pretties, that's all for now. I have to go eat lunch, which should be no fun at all since I'm on a diet :/

More Back to School Mania

Okay, I know I'm spoiled, but I must get a new backpack every year, whether or not my one from last year has worn out. So, for your enjoyment, a few backpacks I thought deserved "A" grades :]

First and foremost, here is the backpack I chose for this year. The picture is a little fuzzy but as you can probably tell, this bag is ARGYLE, and pink argyle at that. What more can you ask for in a backpack? $28.60

Before I found my perfect backpack, I really considered getting this bag from Target. It is houndstooth, after all, but after realizing I couldn't put my fatty arm through the armhole comfortably, and the fact that I'd probably get shoulder and back problems by carrying all my heavy books on one arm, I reluctantly put it back. But you know, there is nothing wrong in using a stylish tote bag in lieu of a backpack! $12.99

I also really like this houndstooth bag (from Target again) also. It really really reminds me of a bag that I could take with me to London and strap on while running all over the city and exploring the sites and shopping til I dropped. The only problem, backpack-wise, was that it was too small and more purse-size than carry all my books-size. $19.99

This tote is really really cute! They have tacos saying "Hola" on one side and french fries saying "Bon jour". How sweet is that? It is probably a bit on the small side, but it's too adorable of a bag to make a difference. $25

When I was at Journey's getting some argyle shoes (natch) for the new school year, I remember seeing this bag on the wall and thinking, "That's a pretty cute backpack". I like that it is a backpack in practicality, and will really be sturdy enough to last all year, but at the same time it does not skimp on style. $40

In all fairness, this bag is probably not the most accessible or convenient backpack. I saw a few kids last year carrying around duffel bags as backpacks last year, but they were guys and their duffel bags were icky black ones with no spunk. This one screams fashionista. Does it help that this is made by Libertine (for Target)? Of course! My fave detail is of course the whale/crossbones pattern. $39.99

This bag is white, which my dad says is not a good feature in a backpack as it will get dirty fast. But I really don't care. You know what draws me to this bag? That it looks like something Gwen Stefani would either carry or design, and that my friends, is a good thing. $24.99

I was perusing Urban Outfitters, and I came upon this bag. I couldn't really tell if it is of backpack-worthy size. But at this point I think it would do just fine as a purse, and at the sale price, I'd take it in a second! $14.99
Just a few more noteworthy things, then I'm out.
1) The new season of Tori and Dean: Inn Love premiers tonight on Oxygen at ten o'clock. I have a new found love for this show! They are both pretty funny, and I love watching their antics (yes, I did just use the word antics!).
2) Also on tonight is the show Flipping Out, which I mentioned in one of my earlier posts. It is on at ten o'clock on Bravo, luckily I can most likely watch a rerun of it some other day, otherwise I don't know how I could watch both tonight!
Well, I believe that is all for now! Hug Hug Kiss Kiss :]

Chicness is My Weakness (Right on Tori Spelling)

I spent a good chunk of yesterday trying on and organizing my outfits for my Senior Portrait. Oh yes, I am that anal (You should have seen me before our Holland trip! I took a whole day organizing my clothes into 6 or 7 different outfits, then switching the tops and bottoms around to create 6 or 7 new outfits for the second week, then I wrote every single outfit down and took that list with me). So it got me thinking....

SCHOOL CLOTHES

*Please keep in mind that for 11 school years I wore a uniform, and only two years ago did I start getting to wear "real clothes" to school, if you can call it that. Because my current school has all these weird "guidelines" that we have to adhere to in our dress code. For example: We can't wear jeans except for on Fridays, the top edge of our shirt can't be lower than two finger spaces below the collarbone (mind you, I didn't even know where my collarbone was in relation to my shirts until two years ago, and let me tell you, it's pretty high!), you can't wear shirts with graphics on them unless they are 3 inches in one dimension ( height or length) and the list goes on and on. So if these clothes are little bland, forgive me! :]

The typical pants that are worn at my school are cords and khakis. I have a plethora of them in a multitude of colors hanging in my closet right now. It is up to us to jazz up our outfits within the rules, and by starting with the pants above you have a leg up, so to speak. They are khakis, but they are straight leg, "skinny pants" if you will, so they stray away from the conventional blandness a little. $32.50-38.50

The reigning store brands at my school are stores like Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, and American Eagle. Yes, we are a prep nation, for the most part. I cannot stand the first two stores, but I don't mind American Eagle. Above is one of their legendary hoodies, and I like it because while most of their hoodies scream American Eagle, this one only whispers it with a small AE in the corner. $39.50

Then again, I also like this one :] $39.50

Like I said, it is up to us to create our own creativity in our wardrobe, school or otherwise. I like these pants just for their shear outrageous color, and what do ya know? They also have 'em in purple! $39.50

I love this shirt a whole lot. Of course, immediately, the empire waist jumps out as an obvious plus. And while some empire waist shirts can be boring and drab, this one definitely isn't! $24.50

Again, empire waist, but so much more than that. If I had the materials and the means (i.e I knew how to sew) I would be making this kind of shirt every day. It's so pretty to look at, and the detailing is exquisite. $26.50

I do not even have to say what makes me love this shirt, I'm sure you can tell ;] Not only is this sweater conservative enough for my school, but it is ARGYLE. Ever since it began appearing in the JCPenney Back to School ads, I knew I had to have it. It's very Ivy League-y, but in a modern way. $24.99

First let me say, I love Kimora Lee Simmon's new show, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, mostly because she has everything I want, a huge house, lots of clothes and shoes and accessories, assistants (yes I'd love to have a life busy enough to warrant assistants), a size 4 shape, 2 beautiful kids, and an EMPIRE. But enough of my dreaming. This sweater is very school-appropriate and I have to say I also LOVE the skirt this is paired with. $79

I love this sweater vest. In Washington it is all about layers! Because when the weather is so cold that the high is like 40 degrees that day and you can still see your breath at 3:00 in the afternoon, it's icy. I could wear this with a long sleeve shirt underneath, some really dark jeans on a Friday (of course), and some Nike Court Force Lows (in my dreams, they cost like $80). Does it help that I saw a picture of Jessica Biel in a very similar outfit in a gossip magazine? Maybe... ;] $13.99

You'll notice that I have mostly tops on this post. And there is a reason for that. My theory is that you can only have a limited selection of pants and still have many great outfits and options as long as you have many tops to switch around on top. I had eight pairs of pants that I rotated Monday through Thursday (and wore jeans on Friday) and they were the same pants over and over again, but it wasn't that big a deal because I always wore them with a different top. Case in point, the tops of choice for both students and teachers (they like that you can button them up past your collarbone) are polo shirts. No graphics, high necklines, many different colors to choose from. And my favorite? The old Navy Stretch Pique polos, which happen to be on sale for only ten dollars. You're welcome :] $10

*Rawr* (and a touch of Hoochie Skirt Wednesday)

A few days ago I innocently decided to do a post on leopard print for today (yes I do plan them, my blog has taken my life over a bit), after all, it is my fourth favorite print. Little did I know there is a plethora of marvelous leopard print articles of clothing.

I love that this shirt is not in the traditional sense leopard but blue instead. Not only that but it has the merit of the empire waist (floats away from the body; if you remember anything from my posts, an empire waist is key). $24.50

Mmkay, I gotta admit that this shirt is nothing really (wow, I really love italics tonight) special, aside from the color (you can never go wrong with pink), but I like this shirt. I am big on printed tanks that I can wear under cardigans to school. And I can also appreciate that at really quick glance that this model kinda looks like Mila Kunis, and I love her nail polish. $21

There should be a Naughty Secretary Day at all places where you have to dress up for work. Or perhaps a Naughty Secretary Dress Up Day in general. I bring this up because if there were such a day, I would wear this. Or perhaps not, I might not have the guts. But anyways, you get the picture. When a skirt has a zipper all the way up the side of the skirt (there go the italics again), then you know, as Kathy Griffin said, "I'd like to show him a thing or two about a thing or two." And I really hope this last blurb hasn't tainted my overall angelic attitude. I'm just saying this skirt is a little naughty. The End. $48

Not gonna lie, at first glance, I thought this dress was a negligee. But it turns out that it is a dress from the Juniors section at Macy's. Go figure. This is what our world is coming to. But it's still a cute dress. $36 (On Sale and FREE SHIPPING!)

I am a known connoisseur of watches. I have been known to have my fair share of them, and usually more than several are at my disposal at any given time. The watch I am using now I have had for quite a while, and it's probably time for me to get a new one, at least on my timeline. But the point is, if I had to wear one watch for the next ten years, I wouldn't mind it being this one. Pink Leopard print and bling on a watch? Ingenious! $125

I have a promiscuous love affair....with Betsey Johnson. Ms. Johnson can do virtually no wrong as far as I'm concerned, at least when accessories are concerned. Exhibit A? This bag. It is exquisite. The leather detailing and gold hardware already sell me, and I love the detail of an attached coin purse right on the bag. Oh Betsey, how you thrill me! $235

This dress is also from Macy's, but this time from the Womans department. Although, to me, you couldn't tell, I would assume Juniors department. But what can I say, it is accessorized with a nice belt. But I have just have to note, now that I remember, that with any of these articles (accept maybe the jewelry) you should probably just stick with one leopard piece per outfit. I mean with a dress, it's not that hard, just wear some black platforms or something. But with the other pieces especially, wear one leopard piece and simplify the rest. We don't want to go around looking like prats... $59.40

I have an intense infatuation with Christian Louboutin shoes. They are like the epitome of shoes. One day, when I am rich and famous, those will be among one of my first purchases. What I love about these shoes is that they are very close to Louboutins (peep toe, covered platform) except without the trademark red sole. But as I said, that's probably trademarked, so these are almost as good as gold. I can almost visualize Nicole Richie wearing these. By the by, I bought some covered platform leopard suede slingbacks from Payless, but have not had the nerve to wear them. But I hope to at least wear them to a dance sometime this year. Let's hope. $160.95

Like I said before, I love me some Betsey Johnson. Every single time I go to Macy's, I gaze at her turnstile and wish I could buy some of her jewelry. It's just sort of out of my price range. But I can still dream, can't I? $42

Again, Betsey Johnson. If this necklace were real carats, it would be like 30. Need I say more? $70

I debated whether to put this on here, as it is very similar to the other watch in this post. But I decided what the hey. It is more traditional (brown, not pink), and still goes with practically all outfits. Plus, it is blingtastic. $275

These pumps are admittedly very similar to the other shoes in this post, but perhaps more important because they are cheaper (yay!) and very Jessica Simpson-esque, a plus in my book. She must have every stacked wooden and/or cork shoe there is. I'm not really sure why she has such a high heel obsession, but I'm under the impression she's short. But we can thank her for the stacked platform trend. $20.99

I actually have this bag, and I can tell you, I rather love it. My mom says you should always get a purse that zippers close, and this doesn't, but other than that, no complaints. It's very durable, and has two compartments on the inside separated by a zippered partition (so I suppose you can put a few small valuables in there). Very cute. $16.99

I have two very funny anecdotes concerning this skirt. Firstly, please tell me I am not the only one who watches The Nanny. I watch them as reruns on Lifetime, and perhaps some of you watched the show when it was on, or now on reruns like me. Regardless, tell me this is not a skirt Fran Drescher would have worn on the show. Probably more than once. If that doesn't sell you on the skirt, I don't know what will ;] My other story: Once, at my Catholic grade school we had Catholic Schools/ Spirit Week, and every day was a wacky dress-up day. Wednesday was like weird clothing day or something so me and one of my best friends Yesenia wore like really short skirts over pants and like toes socks and sandals or something like that (OMG, remember when toe socks were popular?!?!). Anyways, when my dad came to pick me up, he looked at us and said, "What is it, Hoochie Skirt Wednesday?" LOL. I will never forget that, but this skirt would definitely qualify as a Hoochie Skirt Wednesday skirt. $48

These jeans are super skintight, that is my first impression. but as they are leopard and gray, which I can appreciate because gray jeans are trendy now. So, ergo, these jeans make the post. $68

If there were a version of Hoochie Skirt Wednesday for tops, this would make the list. I am not sure what Urban Outfitters aversion to tight clothes is of late, but whatever works. This cardigan is still cute, even if I could only fit one boob in it. $58
