Let's Pretend We're www.wafflesandfashion.blogspot.com For One Minute Shall We?

Okay, so for those of you unaware of what a fashion blog is, please venture over to the link mentioned in the blog title. The girl who writes it, Leif I believe her name is, is wonderfully funny and insightful, especially when it comes to fashion. I am going to try my hand at a fashion blog today, and it it goes well, I may very well continue posting fashion blogs at regular intervels. It will give me practice as an inspiring/future magazine writer/editor!
Well, my subject today is purple. I don't know if anyone besides me has noticed, but you cannot go shopping (especially online) without seeing the color splashed everywhere. Even my mom, often amiss to fashion trends, has noticed. This only draws me to one conclusion, it must be the color of the moment. Following are several examples of purple displayed at its best:

I've really taken to wearing dresses these days, perfect for summer and easy to throw on. Accessorize (preferably with gold jewelry :]) and choose some cute shoes and you're ready to go! I particularly like this dress with those shoes, and while wearing a loose dress can look tent or mumu-like, you can always fix it with a belt, like shown above. May I also add that this dress can take you into fall with some tights under it and a cardigan ;] $24.50

I loooovvvveeee this shirt. It is victorian-esque, like what Juliette would wear if she was looking for Romeo at the mall. Or even the opera. I have no idea what I am saying...but at the price of this shirt you can just leave me babbling and go buy it. $19.50

I appreciate this shirt, for the 80's popish tone that it carries. It has wonderful detailing near the bust and cute sleeves, plus an empire waist (my new favorite kind of shirt) because it floats away from the body and masks the fried chicken you may have had last night. Don't worry, I won't tell ;] $22.50-24.50

This shirt has the same wonderful qualities as the previous shirt (empire waist and intricate details) but with even more class, with a smaller price! $15.40

Raise your hand if you love Nordstrom's! I do I do! This shirt is a perfect example of purple mixed with other colors so that no aspect of the shirt is overwhelming. Even though I don't really like the fact that some of the patches look like skulls. Oh well. Keep in mind though, the shirt under the main shirt does not come with it, but you most definitley should wear a shirt under this one. $69

I have since realized that I have A LOT of tops in this blog. Let's move onto bottoms... I also find that a new trend on the rise is colored jeans or pants. And these purple straightlegged ones are perdyful. Although I often sport a standout shirt and neutral pants, this is a nice reversal on tradition. $49

Okay, this skirt isn't all purple but it is still cute. I have to say, I don't even particularly like yellow, but in this combination I really like it. $58

Purple Sandals? Purple really is sweeping the nation. These would look really good with a tan and a pedicure, hint hint :] $16.50

That Coco Chanel is a genius, and I love any bag that is quilted. This one is particularly cute, and big, which is one of my top requirements in a purse. $29.50

I really really want to jump on the band wagon of clutches. I do. But my problem has always been size, and as I said before, I simply need a BIG purse. But with this oversize clutch, in purple no less, maybe I too can be a clutch-toter as well. $32

I leave you my dear friends, with this fabulous gem of a ring. If any of you know who Heidi Montag from The Hills is, then you know she recently got engaged. I personally don't watch the show but I may have to just to spot thispectacular ring that her fiance gave to her, which I fell in love with. It resembles the ring above, but is slightly better. Dare to dream about this ring, I know I will! $795

Stunned. Simply Stunned

I have just finished Harry Potter, book number seven. And my title describes how I feel. I don't want to give anything away because that would be unfair to those who haven't finished reading, but I will just say this: the ending does not include the worse, and I am in fact happy with the ending, sad only that this will be the last of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. That being said, my summer will now resume it's usual boring self, as most of my dad's side of the family has just left and while that brought quite the excitement value, they're gone now and I will go back to diverting myself from summer homework and lazing about and the like. I really need to crack down on the former because as my mother reminds me every threee minutes I only have a month to do it. I think I have a lot to do in the remaining my month before SENIOR year: finish my homework, take my senior picture, possibly get a haircut, bulk up my impending school wardrobe, lose about 500 pounds, and a lot more things besides. Hmm, well tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment which I am certainly looking forward to, SIKE. I hat going to the doctor's, but c'est la vie. And I have to say that is probably the only thing I have planned for this entire week. Sad, huh? Oh well, later this week I plan on trying my hand at fashion blogging, we'll see how that goes. Peace :]
